At the heart of the island towered an ancient, enormous tree that stretched up to the very heavens. Catastrophe had once struck Illusia and spread beyond its shores, taking many lives. Chaos and sorrow had engulfed the world until at least its salvation appeared in the form of a boy, a girl, and a holy sword. Time flowed on and peace returned. The sword and the tree remained, and they soon came to be known as the Sword of Mana and the Mana Tree. Followers of the Mana Tree returned to Illusia as the world started slowly but surely down the path to recovery. Here begins a new and fateful tale. It is the story of a goddess newly born, a sacred sword discovered, and the children gathered beneath the great Mana Tree." ============================================================================== Walkthrough [CM.03.01] ============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prologue [CM.03.02] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As you start the game, you'll get to pick any of the four character (see section CM.05.01 for more information). Depending on your preferences, pick one and also select a color/name for this character. Depending on what character you picked, you'll get a different beginning. You will get a brief introduction on the character you picked. They all need to do the same thing - head north in the village and talk with Tess. Tess tells you something is bothering her. The plants and animals seem to be restless, as if something is about to happen. She asks a favor of you - to give something to Moti. Walk south and enter the house on the east to find Moti. As you give the notes and want to leave, Watts comes in, who is the king of the mines. He found a strange stone that leads back to the event that happened 10 years ago. Before much can be said an earthquake comes in between and Pete walks in. He mentions the big stone in the village and Moti tells you to check it out. Head outside to find the big stone is glowing and then cracks. That's not a good thing. To make things worse, the Mana Tower disappeared. You obviously go to rescue Tess, who is still inside. You'll get a Gem Frame, which helps you getting the powers out of gems. He'll give you that, and a gem of defense. Moti will give you a rope that'll help you escape any dungeon you're in to return to town. Objective: Tess is stranded at the Mana Tower. Go and help her quickly! Head west first and enter the building to get some help with the game and check some new shops out. After that leave the town in the south. Someone will stop you though. You need to select a spirit that'll help you through the dungeon. Pick one and move on to... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 1: The Mana Tower [CM.03.03] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Mana Tower looks completely different. Times to head inside then. Zone 1 Gleamdrop: Hidden by a pot Gleamwell: --- You can attack the monsters using 'A', so do so. Kill all the monsters and open the chest and break the pots. Head north to enter the second room, which is filled with archers. You can protect yourself by holding 'A'. Use this tactic to take out the archers in the room. The room to the east holds yet another tutorial on the powerbar. To use a special attack hit 'SELECT' when the bar is full and then use 'A' to attack. You can summon your spirit by holding 'B'. It's up to you what to do here - fight them yourself or use your spirit. Make sure to check out the chest in the east. Head south and your character will notice there are no stairs. Good job noticing that! We use beams to get up, just like a good SF movie. Kill the enemies and break the pots south of the beam to find the first Gleamdrop. Pick it up using 'A' and then drop it on the bream to move up a floor. Zone 2 Gleamdrop: Hidden by a pot. Gleamwell: --- Your spirit will tell you, you can use 'Y' to use gumdrops or other recovery items to regain health. He'll also teach you how Multiplayer works. Just clear the zone of the monsters and break the pots to find the Gleamdrop Also make sure to open the chest near the Gleamwell. You'll find some new enemies near the end of the zone - swords. Use them to break away the blue pots. Zone 3 Gleamdrop: Hidden by a pot. Gleamwell: --- In this room you'll find new enemies. One is a laser-shooting orange eye, the other one isn't a real enemy, but annoying either way. It's just a big floating block that blocks your way. You can hit it to fill up you bar though. The Gleamdrop is in the southwest corner of the room. Zone 4 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster Gleamwell: --- Head south and defeat all the swords to get the Gleamdrop. Leave it where it is, grab the items and then move to the eastern of western part of the room. Start hitting the blocks until they break to find a chest. Then get the Gleamdrop and move up. It's time to save, equip yourself and add some gems to the frame. Do so and it's time to fight a boss. Zone 5 Objective: Defeat Xangar Tess will explain what happened. She was praying when suddenly there was light and she ended up where she is now. You tell her to take cover while you take care of this little beast. Xangar can't be defeated at this point. Just break the pots and land a few hits on him to make your character realise that nothing seems to work. A sword will fall down from the sky and take away the force that protected Xanger. Now you can finally hit it. He has a few tactics: * It will sweep down and forth the screen. Avoid this. * It will show up on the north side of the screen and throw things at you. Avoid those and hit him. * It will come down and either release a bunch of flames or cause a flame tornado. Hit him while you have the chance. After it's defeated, you will get a rank based on your skills, secrets found and time it took you. Pick and item and you'll see how Xangar splits up in the essence of wind and the essence of fire. You will look at the sword, but it blinds you. A man will show up and tries to take the sword, but not with much luck. Suddenly more and more areas will light up. Something is not going as planned. You'll obtain the Holy Sword. Back at the village it is decided that something needs to be done. You can help by checking out the areas that were lit. Moti will also give you a flail. You can do a tutorial on this if you wish to. Objective: Once you're ready, go see Moti on the upstairs balcony of the Silver Mermaid. From now on you can do sub-quests and Dud Services. Check out section CM.04.01 for more information regarding that. Anyway, head to the Silver Mermaid and talk with Moti. He will give you the spin drum, which you can use to call the guardian spirit Flammie. Before actually going you should level up a bit. Talk with the Bomb Bros. to get the Fury Reels. Before you continue I suggest you do a lot of quests for Dub Services, so you: * Get yourself some money * Level up to around level 10 * Buy the best Lvl. 10 Equipment if you don't have them already * Also do Tess' quest When you are ready head towards... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 2: Topple: Star Lake [CM.03.04] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This area has some new 'features'. The barrels have been replaced by pink plants. If you hit them enough they might become a monster, watch out for that. You'll also encounter plants that contain tentacles. If you end up in one of those, press the direction you want to go to a few times to get out. Zone 1 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest Gleamwell: --- This area works about the same as the Mana Tower does. You'll find purple plants that act like the barrels and it's just more hunting and slaying. You can use the flail at the bushes to sometimes find items. Anyway, the first Gleamdrop is in the chest that you encounter when you go north a bit. Use the flail to get it. Zone 2 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest Gleamwell: --- You need to head all the way east and then use the flail on the chest to find the Gleamdrop. Zone 3 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest Gleamwell: --- The chest you seek is hidden on an isle. You know what to do - use the flail to get it. Zone 4 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster Gleamwell: --- The monster you need to defeat is in the middle of the zone - it's the spiked orange one. Use the plant to your advantage is a good idea here. Zone 5 Objective: Defeat Galem. You will use the Holy Sword to remove the force that's protecting the boss. Good thing. The boss only has one attack, making it quite easy to predict what it's going to do ;) It will start to shine and then tentacles will pop out of the ground. As soon as you see the light, start to run around like a maniac to avoid getting hurt. Whenever there is no light, use the flail on the floating balls around the boss. They are small versions of the boss. These small enemies have two attacks - they either rush at you or they explode. Just hit them as fast as you can to get rid of them. When you defeated enough of these enemies the boss will either remove them all so they all attack you, or just wait until you picked them off one by one. Once the small enemies are gone, it's time to hit the eye. When it starts to shine it means it'll summon new enemies, so move away when that's the case. Treant will show up - he tells you that the problem of all the light beams lies within the mana. The mana is causing the world to collapse. He will give you the Branch of Treant. It'll open the way. Back at the village Moti will give you the Short Bow. You can practice using it if you wish. Objective: Find out more about recent incidents from the locals. Pick up the Rusty Key in the room, it's right of Salamander. Talk with Moti about it. Then head to the Bomb Bros. to get a bigger Gem Frame. Also have a chat with them to obtain a side-quest. Millionaire also has a side-quest for you, so don't forget that. Outside head to the southeastern house and enter it. You'll find a journal inside. It describes how a dragon was slain over at Star Lake. Tess will come in and you have a chat about the dragon. Later on you can talk with Tess for a side-quest regarding this dragon. Once you did this, talk with the Bomb Bros. to get the Soul of a Dragon. Talk with Nana inside the Silver Mermaid. After that, talk with Moti. It's time to head to Jadd and wreck havoc there! Objective: Head to Jadd to find out why monsters are inexplicably on the rise. Level to around level 20-21, buy the stuff you need/can and get going! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 3: Jadd: Fiery Sands [CM.03.05] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You can't get through with these winds, but apparently using a branch will ease things. That makes perfect sense. In this stage you'll once again encounter familiar, yet strange things. You'll find spiked balls which are equal to the barrels and plants you found earlier. Just touching them hurts, though. You'll also encounter green or red plants. The red ones are safe to cut, the green ones will leave a cloud of green smoke. If you touch this smoke (it'll be there for a short while, even when you don't see it) you'll get paralysed. Finally, you'll encounter quicksand. It'll flow in a certain direction - stepping on it will make you go that way. Zone 1 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- Both the Gleamdrop and Gleamwell are in the northeastern part of the area. Not much of a description you need to get there, right? Zone 1 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- The monster you seek is at the most western part of the zone, while the Gleamwell is at the most eastern part of the zone. So first clear out the east part, then go west and clear out the rest. You need to use your flail to get the Gleamdrop. Zone 3 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- Both the Gleamdrop and Gleamwell are in the northwestern part of the area. Zone 4 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- There is only one monster is this area, so that should pretty much make clear what monster to attack. Zone 5 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- The monster you want is one of the monsters that'll summon if you keep battling the monsters in the northern part of the zone. The Gleamwell is in the eastern part. Zone 6 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- The very last monster you encounter is the one you need. How nice is that? Zone 7 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- Head south to find the monster you need. Slay it. Or kill it. Anyway, the Gleamwell is on the eastern part. Zone 8 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- Only one monster is here, and that's the one you need. Life is good. Zone 9 Objective: Defeat Thaydol. This boss may look though, but is quite easy. Equip the bow and move as much towards the main head as you can. Then keep shooting arrows until the boss is down. It may use the following attacks: * Arm-attack: It'll hit you with an arm. * Flame-attack: It'll summon blue flames that'll blind you. * Scythe-attack: Three scythes will go their own way. If you get hit it'll blind you. So the boss is gone - good job there! Gaia will appear and tell you more stories and then give you the Stone of Gaia. Back at the village you'll get the Mallet (hammer) after some chit-chat. Once again you can practice it if you want. Objective: Find out more about recent incidents from the locals. You can now get new side-quests from: * Salamander - Visit Xan Bie the Great in the Fiery Sands. * Tess - Take her to Jadd for a feather. * Millionaire - Retrieve a rare plant from the Fiery Sands. Also try to get a new knapsack for personal enjoyment. After this have a chat with everyone, and mainly with Tess. She'll tell about her own town. You are a hero. A hero to all! Defend the city! Objective: Protect Lorimar, Tess's birthplace, by purging the Ice Citadel of monsters. When you are done doing quests (try to end up around level 24), head to the Ice Citadel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 4: Lorimar: Ice Citadel [CM.03.06] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you arrive at the citadel, you'll use the items of previous bosses to remove the magical barrier. Some notes on this area - the boxes you find can be used as object to knock enemies around. As you may suspect - ice is slippery. Last but not least - some of the small ice objects will cause you to freeze for a few seconds. Zone 1 Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters. Gleamwell: Hidden by ice. You'll find the ice you need to break (using the hammer) in the northeastern part of the zone. Zone 2 Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters. Gleamwell: --- Nothing hard here, just kill the monsters and go on. Zone 3 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by ice. The group you need to eliminate is a group of archers in the east, just like the ice you need to destroy. Zone 4 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: --- There is only one monster here and lots of pots. Destroy the pots for items and then get rid of the monster. Zone 5 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by ice. The group and ice are on the east side of the zone. They sure don't make this hard, do they? Zone 6 Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters. Gleamwell: --- The Gleamwell is in the east, and that's all there is to it. Zone 7 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest.. Gleamwell: Hidden by ice. The chest you seek is in the northwester corner, but watch out for the Mimics. The ice is also around here. Zone 8 Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters. Gleamwell: --- You just need to defeat a few Knights. Easy as that. Zone 9 Objective: Defeat Landmund. The mysterious man will be there and summon Landmand. While trying to remove the barrier, it doesn't seem to work. Tess will tell you to trust in the sword and that makes you remove the barrier. Time for a battle. I had a really hard time using this boss. First summon your spirit near him and run away. Then slash at it until it dies. After the battle, the man will show up again. While trying to defeat him, the Holy Sword will turn against you. He reveals himself as the Mana Lord. He will try to kill you, but Watts and Tess show up. Stuff happens and you're back in the Mana Village. The only way to stop the Mana Lord is by using the Holy Sword, which the lord himself has. Treant and Gaia will show up to aid you. They tell you were to go and they'll help out wherever possible. Objection: Use the powers of the spirits to subdue the Mana tempest over Wendel. More quests are now unlocked: * Watts - Find a friend of Watts. * Tess - Look for a gem. Also get the new weapons/armor/rings and the best knapsack (if possible), before venturing to... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 5: Wendel: Brightwood [CM.03.07] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Upon arrival you'll be confronted by the heavy storm. This area is quite fun, but I have no idea why. Most things are just like other areas. There are two kind of mushrooms - red and green. The green ones will poison you if you destroy them and are too close. The stumps can be destroyed by holding down the attack-button of your hammer and then hitting a stump. You will also bump into vortexes. If you don't destroy these, monsters will keep coming out. There are also holes in the ground (zone 5 and up) shaped like a 'X'. You can walk between them, but don't walk over them or you'll get knocked back. And last but not least - you'll encounter some small stumps. If you hold the attack-button of your hammer and hit them, they'll reveal a bridge you can walk over. Zone 1 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a stump. Reveal the bridge and go south. One of the stumps here contains the Gleamwell. If you cross the narrow path in the east and go south straight away you'll find the group you need to defeat (behind a few stumps, that is). Zone 2 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a stump. The group you seek is one you'll encounter if you head east and follow the path. The stump is in the southwestern corner. Zone 3 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a stump. There is an area in the middle of the zone with lots of stumps. The Gleamwell is southeast of here. The group you seek can be found in the most eastern part of the zone. Zone 4 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: --- Hit a stump and then lure the knights out one by one. Nothing hard here. Zone 5 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a stump. The group is south of where you start. The stump can be found by going towards the east of the zone, somewhere in the middle of the zone. Zone 6 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a stump. Not much to say here - both can be found in the southwestern corner of the zone. Zone 7 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a stump . So far the most fun zone in the game. Hit the stumps while you proceed going north. When you reach a zone with lots of 'X'-marks on the ground slowly go north and east and hit the stump. Keep killing enemies until one drops the Gleamdrop. Also just keep hitting stumps, finding out what revealed what until you can go to the northeast. This is where you'll find the stump you need. Zone 8 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: --- Not much thinking here. Head north and hit the stump, then go south and defeat the enemies. The Gleamwell is also here. Zone 9 Objective: Defeat the Mana Storm. When you try to summon your friends, the Mana Lord wills how up again. After that it's time to fight the Mana Storm. Quite an easy fight, really. The Storm will move back and forth. When it's not moving, the vortex around the Storm will lower, allowing you to attack. And that's all there is to it. Back at the scene all your friends will show up (spirits), but the Mana Lord gets rid of them. He tries to kill you, but for some reason your gems attack him, making him unable to move. Instead of finishing you off, he talks about the Seed of Mana (Tess) and leaves. Back at the village nothing seems to be wrong... Objective: The Mana Lords parting words weigh heavy on your mind. Go find Tess. Tess is nowhere to be found. If you want to change spirits, talk to Nana in the Silver Mermaid. Talk with the Bomb Bros. to get a bigger Gem Frame. Head to the north and check out the cracked stone when you're ready. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 6: Illusia Isle: Ruins [CM.03.08] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Not much to mention here that you can't guess. There are two kinds of flowers here - red and green. The green ones will confuse you if you get too close and most of the time have spikes underneath them. Zone 1 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. You need to defeat the group in the northwest to find the Gleamdrop. The Gleamwell is in the northeastern part. If you want to reach the chest, hit the stump in the northeast, near the Gleamwell. Zone 2 Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. Hit the two stumps and head north. Destroy all the monsters here and then go south. Kill the rest and destroy the plant to find the Gleamwell. Zone 3 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. The monster you seek is on the bridge, it's a purple eye-monster. The plant is southeast of it. Zone 4 Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters. Gleamwell: --- Only one monster is here. Hack away at the small plants and chests for goodies, then get rid of a big plant and kill the Skeleton. Zone 5 Gleamdrop: Hidden by flowers. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. Head east first and then north, destroying monsters and plants until you find the Gleamdrop. All the way up are two stumps. Hit them to create a bridge to the isle in the middle. This is where you'll find the plant you seek. Zone 6 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. Hit the stump in the east and go up. The chest here contains the Gleamdrop. Hit the stump and follow this path to find the Gleamwell. Zone 7 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. Head to the southeastern part of the zone to find both the group and the plant. Zone 8 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- Head to the northeastern part of the zone by knocking the plants away and get rid of the Skeleton (and other monsters). Zone 9 Gleamdrop: Hidden by flowers. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. Both the Gleamdrop as the Gleamwell are near the group of Mushrooms you encounter. The Gleamdrop is west of them while the Gleamwell is south of them. Zone 10 Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. The plant you seek is in the middle of the zone. Just brainless hack 'n slashing here. Be sure to get all the chests as well. Zone 11 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. The plant is northeast of the small lake near where you start. Find the stump in the north and then cross the bridge to some chests in the southeast to find the chest you need. Zone 12 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: --- Head to the east and get rid of the flowers. Then kill the group on the isle using your flail or bow and snatch the Gleamdrop away. Zone 13 Objective: Defeat the Revenants. The Mana Lord will command Tess to call the Mana Seed, but Tess doesn't want to do that. You'll show up to save the day. The Mana Lord explains more about mana and where you currently are. You'll see two familiar people, but soon enough it's time to fight the boss. Alright, this is a fun fight. Equip your bow and stand near the central pillar. Shoot at the boss until it jumps towards you and crushed the pillar. This will leave the big gem on top for you to smash around. Watch out for the shadows on the ground - don't let them grab you. This boss has two forms. The first one is a big shadow that can only be hurt by hitting the gem around using your hammer (or sword/flail). The second form are a bunch of weird monsters. One of them has a red eye. Hit this one to hurt the boss. After a few seconds they'll start rushing at you. Stand in a corner to avoid this. Once you hurt the boss enough a big flash will come up out of nowhere. The two figures will show up and give you an item. The Mana Lord will show up again and knock you away again when you try to attack. Once he tires to kill you, the gems will show up again. When he's ready to kill both you and Tess, the Seed of Mana will show up and he'll leave with that. Back at the village your friends will show up and tell you where the Mana Lord is - under the Mana Tree. Objective: Go to the Mana Tree's roots and stop the Mana seed's release in the chaos. There are some new side-quests waiting: * Tess - Head to Jadd to find some flowers you read two read about. * Seamoon - Cast something in the cave of Topple. When you think you are ready (I did this around level 40, but that may be too hard for you), head to... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 7: Illusia Isle: Path of Life [CM.03.09] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You may want to spent a bit of levelling up before entering this area. At the tree Tess will show up and talk a bit. She wishes she could help more. She notices the glow of something and the instrument you got will pop up and open a portal. Inside nothing is new. There are flowers around that'll cause random status disorders. Zone 1 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. Hit the plants as you follow the path to find the Gleamwell. The Gleamdrop can be found by passing the spikes and killing the enemies there. Zone 2 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. As you go east monsters will spawn. This will take quite a while before the monsters are gone. The Skeleton on the east has the Gleamdrop and the Gleamwell is under the plant. Zone 3 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. This zone is crowded with monsters. Get rid of the small flowers flying around since they have suicidal characteristics. When you head north and then east, you'll find the Gleamdrop. All the way north is the Gleamwell. Zone 4 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monsters. Gleamwell: --- There is a red Knight all the way to the west, but it may be smart to get rid of the other monsters first. Zone 5 Gleamdrop: Hidden by a plant. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. With the plant for the Gleamdrop, they mean the small ones. You can find this one in the southeastern corner. The Gleamwell can be found in the northeastern corner, underneath a big plant. Zone 6 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. The group you need to defeat is all the way to the west, which means you have to walk over some spikes. The plant is on the northern side of the zone, but close to the group you have to beat. Zone 7 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. In the southeastern part is the plant you need. The Gleamdrop is hidden pretty well. Head all the way east and walk along the path (that includes over spikes). There is a grey chest here. Hit that with your flail and grab the Gleamdrop using the flail. Zone 8 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: --- Defeat the 3 red Knights in the middle to get the Gleamdrop. Zone 9 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. A crowded zone. The group and the plant are both in the east though. Zone 10 Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. Quite a tricky area. Use the statues to your advantage and get rid of the enemies. The plant is in the northeast, southeast of a statue. Zone 11 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest. Gleamwell: Hidden by a plant. Quite easy. Get rid of the enemies if you want and just follow the path. The first chest you encounter is the one you need. Grab the Gleamdrop and follow the path until you find the plant. Zone 12 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: --- Guess what. Defeat the red Knights. Zone 13 Objective: Defeat the Mana Lord. As you enter, the Mana Lord will greet you... as a good friend. Since you two have been through so much. And stuff. He wants to crack open the Mana Seed, but the gems create a barrier he can't get through. He still thinks the Mana Sword is just a weapon. This is where a FMV starts where you will see a speech of Tess. Time to battle the Mana Lord. The fight is a laugh. I did it at level 44 and just laughed my way through. He will attack using the sword and various spells, but just hack 'n slash will bring him down easily. After a while he'll tell you it's not over. Fine. More hitting him and laughing behind your DS. The Mana Lord is talking about the scion of Mana after the fight. He tells you to give the Mana Seed to the maiden. Not that, but he also gives the Mana Sword back. After that he commits suicide. But not without giving you more to worry about. A rift opens above the skies in the Mana Tree. The Mana Sword doesn't like it when you want to battle against Mana itself. But who needs that? Let's finish this problem! Objective: Enter the cosmic rift to stop the chaos and restore everything to normal. You can now do some new quests: * Dudbears - Find a missing Dudbear. When you finished this quest, talk to the Bomb Bros. to get the biggest Gem Frame. * Character Quest - Depending on the character you picked, you can do a special quest. For Wanderer you need to talk with Millionaire. No more? Let me know. Get the best equipment, your favourite spirit (if you even use them, unlike me), all the healing items you need (and possibly the gem that doubles the healing effects) and get ready for the final showdown. Head towards... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 8: Illusia Isle: Cosmic Rift [CM.03.10] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zone 1 Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. The crystal is hidden in the middle of the zone, near the chest. Zone 2 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. A good zone to gain a level and healing items. The chest is in the northwestern corner, the crystal in the southeastern corner. Zone 3 Gleamdrop: Hidden by a crystal. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. From where you start head north, east and then follow the path north until you need to head west to continue. Around here are both crystals you seek. Zone 4 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- Hit the big crystal ball with your hammer to cause a domino-effect. Get rid of the monster in any way you want and go on. Zone 5 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. The monster you seek is a dragon in the north. The crystal is in the northeastern corner. Zone 6 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. The group you seek is in the northeastern area, and you may have to walk over some spikes to get there. The crystal is in the northwest. Zone 7 Gleamdrop: Hidden by a crystal. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. To the northeast of where you start you'll see some crystals. One of them contains the Gleamdrop. The Gleamwell is somewhere in the northeast, in one of the passages. Zone 8 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- In the middle of a zone is a Knight. Get rid of it in order to continue. Zone 9 Objective: Defeat the Doppelgangers. This really is a joke. The kids you see are clones of other playable characters. Just kill them. Zone 10 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. The chest is to the south, then east (over the spikes) if where you start. The crystal is in the middle of the zone, to the north. Zone 11 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. The monster you seek is in the east part of the zone. You need to walk over the spikes and then defeat the Gargoyle. The crystal is in the middle of the zone. Zone 12 Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. The chest is west of where you start. The crystal is all the way in the northwestern corner. Zone 13 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: --- Shoot the crystal balls away to get rid of the crystals that surround the monsters. Kill them and use the flail to get the Gleamdrop. Zone 14 Gleamdrop: Hidden by a crystal. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. This zone consists of various 'circles'. Move from the outer to the first inner one. In the southeast a crystal will contain the Gleamdrop. The Gleamwell is in the middle of the zone, but watch out for the Gargoyles - they can teleport. Zone 15 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain group. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. Kill the Gargoyles around the circle in the middle of the zone. Once you killed one, another one will spawn a bit head. Go around the whole circle to earn the Gleamdrop. The Gleamwell is inside the circle. Zone 16 Gleamdrop: Hidden by a crystal. Gleamwell: Hidden by a crystal. The Gleamdrop is one of the crystals in the east. The Gleamwell is in the north. Zone 17 Gleamdrop: Defeat a certain monster. Gleamwell: --- Kill the knight on the isle (using a shock wave from your sword, bow or flail) and then pull the Gleamdrop towards you. Get ready for the final show. Zone 18 Objective: Defeat the Scion of Mana. After some FMVs it's time to start the fun. You'd think this battle is hard, right? Think again. The scion has two forms - it'll pop out of the ground with a bunch of hostile plants. At this point it's time to attack. You can recognise this form, because the flowers all around the place are white. When green plants pop up, it's time to run around in circle (literally). A shadow will hover over the route you run and try to attack you. You can't defeat the scion during this form, so just run around and wait. Watch the ending, good job beating the game. Objective: You may have missed something. Leave no stone unturned as you search. You can now do quests you missed or just play around. Have fun. Don't forget to save. ============================================================================== Sub-Quests [CM.04.01] ============================================================================== Just like the Dub Services, these Sub-Quests use random maps.
